Living within the Southampton hinterland I do hear a lot of negatives about him putting players in wrong positions and being very dogged in some tactics which don't work; but the significant problem I have is it's rather difficult to speak to a non-arrogant Saints supporter.
I'd never noticed your location before...

If you wander over to the cricket ground on a Saturday afternoon, you can join me in laughing at my delusional Saints-supporting Ampfield CC team-mates!

Mainly, I'd suggest, that he seems to be UTTERLY and HOPELESSLY in love with himself.
I saw him interviewed a few days ago.
There was a straggly bit of grey hair in his beard
Not the elegant salt and pepper of a properly groomed gentleman, like myself.
And he needs a hair cut.
Slippery slope.
He'll soon be spotted on a bench in Teboura Way Tesco car park, drinking White Lightning.

Wasn't there a story a while back that he particularly has a dislike for his home-town club? I can't recall the reasons .

Such a bad option I'm tempted to start a Sack Martin thread now to get a start on everyone else who will be starting such threads after a few games

Smug and utterly in love with himself -hmmm.
Sound like any other (ex) south coast manager by any chance ?

have to say it makes a lot of sense. know to the club already. has a possession based philosophy. isn’t a temperamental italian who will want the board to do things like spend money.

and above all else, graeme souness will be delighted that we’ve heeded his advice and appointed someone who ‘knows our game’

I saw him a couple of weeks ago, actually - in Waitrose, in Chandlers Ford. He had a black roll-neck jumper on - like the Milk Tray man, and he was looking at the bunches of flowers.

Probably looking to buy a big bunch to present to HIMSELF. The smug weirdo.
According to the article they were for Tony BLOOM

I saw something similar. Didn’t we make an effort to sign him in his latter playing career only to find he had zero interest in coming here as well?

I believe he is also a vegan, he’d be better off at Fleetwood

There are stories that he and the club had a falling out, over his RMA Academy set up, which might be considered to be stepping on a few Albion (in the Community) toes.

Christ, we've had the same five or six stories on repeat on here for the past few months. It is SO f****** dull

RDZ moody press conference = he's fallen out with the board!!!1
RDZ to Bayern/Liverpool/Barca.
Potter back?
OR, Russell Martin, he's from Brighton... (which ends with a discussion about whether we hate each other)
OR what about Lallana/Rosenior/Calde to step up to a job they are overwhelmingly unqualified for?

I'm sure I've missed a couple.

Meanwhile we have our greatest ever manager (who's already talking about next season) in situ, with seven games left of a season in which we could very easily finish in our second highest ever position. Cool

The dull part of the south coast
It's incredible isn't it?! Even after all these recent years of us moving in opposite directions, I still get spoken to like Brighton are no better than Crawley and they're like this bastion of football success.

It still makes me angry thinking of those 'Saints is the South' car stickers. Vile club.
I like the cut of your jib, sir!

Saints fans must be spitting blood and feathers that their so-called poorer cousins Brighton and Bournemouth are lording it in the Premier League while they are trapped in the Championship. Not only could their status not improve - if they can’t gain promotion through the playoffs (automatic spot has already sailed) - they could be turned over by Portsmouth next season. Oh dearie me! :tantrum:

I often have a roll neck on…black, blue or a lovely white submariner one. I’ve never bought myself flowers…
I buy myself daffodils every week. Nowt wrong with that

Does Russell Martin go to the same ’hair stylist’ as Thomas Frank?

As you are so elegant I bet you use ‘Just For Men’?

The bench sitter’s drink of choice is Frosty Jack’s - so refined in its 2 litre plastic bottle. Why - you don’t even need a corkscrew.

Sussex but not by the sea
Is this a joke? No, f***ing, thank you.

If it's a manager from these shores then Rob Edwards has done a fantastic job with very limited resources, his team play attacking footie and he seems to 'just get on with it', I don't remember much moaning.
