Yeah makes sense.

"Our defence is leaky, lets bring in the Southampton manager to fix it".
And some people are baffled that millions of Brits still hanker for Johnson, Truss and Sunak.
The idiot gene is well represented in the Brit-pool.

I even got some replies on my 'time for Allardyce' thread that appear to assume I was making a considered suggestion.

The way it works is that when Tony decides that if we go on an actual run of actual defeats it is part of the actual process and not just a blip, he will replace the manager.

That's how it works.

And yet some people seem to think that no ownership decisions are made without the vocal input of loyal supporters shouting (often from the lofty elevation of their sofa).

If we go on an unaccountable run of horrible results and slide down the table, and it looks like it is a consequence of the Heuzeler process, I will be unsurprised to see him replaced. I may even raise one eyebrow ???

Getting titsy over individual results seems a bit silly to me, however. Always has.
Perhaps I'm peculiar, possibly a bit queer. Who knows?

Harshly treated, did a wonderful job getting the Saints promoted with by all accounts some of the best football ever seen in the EFL. Another club with short term vision who will be punished for this mistake.

Would love to know who sanctioned Aaron Ramsdale to be allowed in the TNT studio whilst his team are going through a crisis.

A bizarre decision and quite telling as to the standards being set there. Not appropriate at all, even if injured

Potter to Saints? He did used to play for them, or is he too big/rich for a relegation battle?
It would only be interesting to him if he could get verbal and monetary insurance that he won't be sacked when they go down in May.

If that was the case, it would have been the perfect gig for him... if they had serious owners rather than some Yugo media mogul with intentions.

More likely he waits for West Ham or for Frank to leave Brentford or something, but not ruling Saints out entirely.

I honestly thought he was going to be England manager. Seems he's been holding out for a while now for various different teams!

Interesting stat in The Times today:

With Russell Martin now sacked and as he played 29 times for Scotland, as it stands for the first time since 1892 and the creation of the old second division there will not be a single Scotsman managing a club in the top two tiers of English football this weekend.

GPott has already turned Wolverhampton down, I guess Saints are a bigger club and so that job might be slightly more appealing but still don't think he fancies a relegation battle.

RB Salzburg have just sacked Pep Linjders. Could be a good choice for Potter. Less pressure, good opportunity to rebuild the team with some good youngsters at our feeder club. And a bit of glamour as our next three games are Bayern Munich (friendly), Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid (both CL).

Southampton a bigger club than Wolves??

One of these has three league titles, four FA Cup wins, 2 league cups and a UEFA Cup Final appearance.

The other one..... a solitary FA Cup win whilst a second division club.

Unless football really did start in 1992....

He's holding out for Wet Spam. Not sure he has thick enough skin for either IMO.
Loppy has saved his job for the minute. If reports are true once a snake always a snake talking to a club before they have sacked the manager. Probably happens all the time in football though the game with no morales.
