Well Les i agree with your stand-up opinion. Daniel Kitson is f***ing brilliant and probably the best person in the world as well as the comic

Perhaps he is differant live but I saw some Kitson stand up and thought it was a bit poor. Seemed to be obvious, student pleasing humour but I would like to see more and see then.

He's lost a fair bit of weight since he used to do those horoscope thingies.

Was that Celebrity Fit Club, or was it the heroin?[/QUOT

His sets are quality because he goes of on tangents but it always seems cohesive and means you get something a bit different each time. Has good banter with the crowd to.

Sounds very much like the Brand show I saw down in Bournemouth. He started off by just wandering straight into the crowd to the back of the theatre, causing all sorts of hassles for the bloke that had to keep the mic wire sorted out.

plot twist, the programme will be about how social media manipulates public views and stokes up rumours on unfounded information.

Just another outwardly left leaning conspiracy theorist who trusted the conspiracy over their politics and lurched to the right.

Just as those who planted those stories planned or those who remain in power feed off.

There is a lot of it about.

That's really what your modern conspiracy theorist needs to own. You are now part of the conspiracy.

Until your post, I hadn’t realised that he’d changed camps to join Icke, Le Tissier, Roger Waters, Piers Corbyn.

It’s political and racist. He hates Pelosi, the Clinton’s, whilst admiring Trump and DeSantis. He’s interested in the “true” racial purity of the Dutch and Germans.

Another one to ignore forever.

Oh yes complete wanker, but he kind of always was. I don't follow his career but became aware (as you are) that your 9/11, big pharma, chem trails movement has shifted to the far/alt right.

Historically (it has to be said) back to where it came from. A means to control people, rather than enlightening them to the fact they are being controlled.

Your bog standard conspiracy theorist is now part of the "conspiracy". Extreme right wing leaders like Trump, major parts of the Republican party and even our own Conservatives believing/feeding the same bullshit.

I'm not angry, I just find it completely fascinating.

I never liked Brand, the Andrew Sachs incident revealed a wanker. He won a few friends when he tackled Farage or someone similar on QT, but he remained a narcissistic bore.

I think that sums him up. Called Farage a pound shop Enoch Powell, but not sure he actually coined the phrase.

He managed to capture a particular subset of unknowingly self-interested "Children of Thatcher" who aligned themselves with the cake and eat it "socialism" of New Labour.

When they were let down, people like him opportunistically move in with their simplistic reasons, solutions and slogans for commercial gain. Personal behaviour irrelevant,

He's a pound shop John Lennon.

Being called an anything John Lennon isn't really much of a put-down? What with Lennon being still a pretty popular figure.

Brand's decline has been sad to see in recent years. Not seen him live but did read one of his books a few years ago and a lot of it was quite affecting in terms of his upbringing and drug abuse issues. As a political thinker he has always thrashed around quite a bit without ever settling on any fixed ideology but it's a loss to see him head into that RFK Jnr world of fakery and nonsense

I watched a few podcasts and stuff a few years ago after enjoying his content about his addiction recovery. He seems to have disappeared into the conspiracy abyss of late.

Shame.
