Southampton haven't got two pennies to rub together so they wont be signing anyone.

Both of them are quality players and any team conceding or struggling to score will probably be aware of them however, that does not mean a bid is imminent or that it would be accepted.

A lot of it will depend on where we are after Christmas. If we are back in contention then why leave?

Don't rely on Hinsh as cover should we sell Elphick, i expect to see him retire before the season's out. This Farren we're rumoured to be looking at, is he a target man? could he be Murray's replacement?

If DK wants us in the Championship he has to hold onto players like Murray & Elphick, its no good flogging them off everytime someone comes in with abit of spare change.

Sure our financial position is'nt fantastic but as the term 'Spend Money To Make Money' does'nt apply to us then we must keep our best players to gain potential promotion.

Time for DK to stand up and Just Say NO!

Can`t see either of them leaving to be honest, unless we are desperate for cash.
Where are Southampton going to get 300k from ?
They are in a financial mess.

Same place we got it from to buy Murray? What's another 300k when you are already millions in debt?

Not an unfair point, but perhaps you don't realise how bad the situation is at Southampton. As has been said, they've loaned out the only striker capable of keeping them up due to not being able to afford his wages. Rupert Lowe has categorically told Jan Poortvliet that there is no money for players, if he wants to bring in new faces to the 1st team, then they're coming from the reserve/youth team.

I would put money on them being the next recipient of a 17 point deduction from the FL for the start of next year and for bottom tier football the year after. It's that grave (or funny, depending on your perspective!)

Murray won't be plying his trade at St Marys.

Murray and Fleetwood sound like two completely different types of striker. Indeed, it looks as though Murray might be our most important player.

Racon + Fleetwood for Murray? No thanks.

Maybe another deal might be Fleetwood and Racon for Forster. I can see the sense in that for both clubs.

.

..and that is a reserve team that just lost to ours, btw!

Jake Thomson is the only player from their reserves who is any good.

Sorry but if Virgo was worth £1.5 million then Murray is worth £3 million

Where on earth does it say Virgo is worth £1.5m? When you buy a second hand car you don't pay the same price when it was sold knew, you pay it's current market value. As far as I am aware, we paid £0.00 fee to Celtic for Virgo.

I'm predicting Murray will get to play at a mid table Premiership side at some point in the next 2 years. He's looked a different class ever since we signed him up.

It was inevitable that as soon as Fleetwood arrived on loan somebody would add 2 + 2 and make 5 that he would be used in an exchange deal. I would think that if Murray wants to try higher up he would not go to Charlton but go for a top of the league side or lower Prem. Wolves were interested in Elphick but their interest lessened after we played them in a closed doors friendly last season. Perhaps they have renewed their interest.

We are going to lose at least one of our first team squad over the new year period! It always happens, and I'm sure Jan 2009 will be no different.

Fleetwood and Racon, two highly rated players, 22 and 24 years of age for a 35 year is never ever going to happen.

Would you take 500k Fleetwood and Racon for Murray?

Yes! I think getting two solid players into the 11, plus enough cash to buy another when needed would be enough for Murray, but ONLY if he wanted to leave. Class player, we should hold on as long as we can!
