Wow, I've just read through the whole thread and it's still just a rumour. I still don't get the anti-Jones feeling though, what has he actually done, or not done, to attract such animosity? (serious question).

So didn't you see anything in the first hour that makes you think we are a better team with Bent.
Bearing in mind he's only been for 4 days and 1 training session.

I agree that we looked very promising while KLL was on the pitch during that early phase of play when we created several decent chances. If anything Bent looked a bit more energetic than the feedback from Villa fans suggested and was certainly a big threat. It was refreshing to see the timings of his runs, winning headers and nicking the ball in front of the defenders. With a tad more luck we might have been at least a goal up and the dynamics within the game might have been significantly different with Fulham on their back foot.

However once KLL went off we looked less confident and more predictable moving forward and Fulham were better able to resist our attacks. We compounded that with no one from our midfield bothering to take responsibility to support the front line, which also created space for Fulham to pick up loose balls.

This underlines the precious flair that an on-form KLL brings to the team and is badly missed when he isn't around. Although a technically better player, sadly Elliott Bennett doesn't have the explosive impact that KLL offers - and clearly frightens opposing teams. It was great to see Solly March - and credit to Sami for selecting him, but maybe a bit soon to expect game changing performances from him.

OK Sami could not legislate for KLL's injury and for conceding a deflected winning goal but surely there was plenty of other evidence in the game for him to make very positive changes to our formations before it cost us. Yes he rightly put Ince on for KLL as Parker had been too influential - but Sami then allowed our midfielders to all sit too deep, and conspicuously left that problem to fester for the next hour. Yes there were also defensive errors but IMO the game was lost in midfield, which just encouraged Fulham and overly exposed our defence.

I'm concerned but not screaming for Sami to go - however I am entitled to ask why he did not address these issues? The problem with his very passive demeanour is that it does not in still any feeling of urgency in the onlookers, be they players or fans. I would be extremely worried if Sami believes that he had changed things but his corrective actions failed to work....

The manager isn't good enough but can't be sacked because doing so it questions the system that chose him and the one he operates within.

Typical bureaucracy. I'm surprised there aren't a team of business analysts and project managers in the backroom staff as well.

Sorry that most probably isn't the case, but I'm only interested in the football. When it goes bad, the last thing I want to hear is a regurgitated mission statement. That's for staff and other business. I don't get that when I go to the supermarket.

And actually, speaking to people associated with the club, you'll find out that he is hopelessly out of his depth coaching the first team.

I wouldn't know this as my knowledge of people associated with the club amounts to:-"Pint of Harvey's - £4.20 please", so I will take your word on this, but please feel free to tell us more......................

Or some are just a bit slower to catch on
Or like some people bought VHS recorders while others got Betamax, I'd put you down as Betamax man lame-o

Betamax was actually better quality though, just didn't have as good marketing.

Not too bothered about his history as time moves on. As first team coach, though, I'd expect him to be influential in developing, for example, free kick routines. On one of the kicks on Saturday (first half) when, as usual, there appeared to be an argument going on about who should take it, JFC looked at the bench with a 'what should we be doing boss ?' face. If the players are so badly drilled they don't know, then the coaching set up is fooked.

Or the players are so shit there's no coaching them.

Free kicks are practiced.
So why doesn't practice transfer to game time?

Celebrated a goal scored by Yeovil against us a few years ago.

Betamax failed because the p0rn studios adopted VHS. Simple as.

Sort of. Sony thought that having the better product would see it win through but JVC worked harder on their relationships with the booming video rental shops, which meant there was a much better choice if you had a VHS recorder. Plus you could record for longer on the VHS tapes. The more people that opted for VHS, the more the manufacturers were able to cut the cost so the machines got a lot cheaper too meaning that, apart from professional use, Betamax died.
