We would need further planning permission if it was to ever happen. We are actually limited to the number of events that can take place on the pitch. I can't see it happening.

Really? Even though we have ONE team in the NATIONAL Leagues in the football equivalent of League Two.

If there are SIX people on this board who can name that team WITHOUT Googling it, then I will eat my face.

I think Yoda's avatar may give it away.

See. THATS how oblivious I am, and I suspect everyone else is.

Rugby is ALRIGHT when its England in the six nations / WC or whatnot, but everything else is an utter waste of time. I'm sorry, but that is FACT.

as much as i hate to admit it, its ridiculous to compare the rugby pyramid with the football pyramid. they are worlds apart

east grinstead have one of the best hockey teams in the country - perhaps they should play a game or two at falmer

Rather than us share the Amex with a rugby team couldnt Whitehawk share Withdean with one as there would be ample space for spectators there after we leave and would help both clubs finance the use of Withdean.

Withdean would be the ideal location for a rugby team from 2011/12 onwards.

That really is not a fact.

From my experience. London Scottish. Decent quality rugby. Excellent setup in Richmond. Stand on a terrace for £10. Drink beer on the terrace. Bit of a sing song. Banter/chat with the away fans (there is no segregation) Attractive ladies galore. Club house with big screens showing the football scores. Sometimes live music afterwards. It is a much better 'matchday experience' than that of professional football. Quite a few famous faces to be seen and spoken to.

High up on the South Downs.
Nothing wrong with rugby but Sussex is about football and cricket. The rugby lot are usually toffs or incomers - nothing wrong with that but both elements would rather watch the game somewhere else.

No no no, for all the reasons stated. However if they could find room for an ice rink nearby then that would be great.

Potentially or has it been ruled out? I'd love us to share the ground with a rugby team and it would be a useful bit of income.

Great idea.

And what shall we call our top local rugby club (with all their thousands of supporters to give us some income) that we are going to produce from thin air?

Look. the fact is that rugby is for braying northern drunken WEIRDO'S. Their sport is so shit they have to make up crap 'glam' names like the "Wakefield Ninja's" or the "Pudsey Rapists".

We are in Sussex, and rugby, of any code, has no place here.

Do you support Sussex Sharks?

I can tell you now that the majority of the local Worthing players are NOT toffs.

Another reason is that Brighton Rugby club could quite easily have come to our assistance to build a shared stadium years ago and didnt so f..k em
I think you'll find that this is absolutely NOT TRUE.

Ask the former President of Brighton Football Club and the former Chief Executive of Brighton and Hove City Council (who happen to be the same person), if you want the story.

Rugby at all levels is as good as football, at the top level it is streets ahead of most International football as a spectacle

The fact that you don't even know the difference between league and union makes your opinion void..FACT

Now who can we offer Falmer to? Doubt the Quins would find it big enough but there must be others. Maybe Wasps would like to come here rather than High Wycombe?
