I used to live on the Effin Road in county Cork few years back.
Always raised a giggle whenever I had to give my address out.

Used to work near here (and I think Ron Atkinson lived there):

True story: I was once snowed in at Detroit airport waiting for a flight transfer to Colorado. Got drunk playing cards with an American couple in a bar. When all flights notified as cancelled they said 'come back and stay at ours' so we stumbled out to a distant snow covered car park and had a really scary snow drive where I kept thinking how much the driver had drunk and what the hell I was doing in this car with total strangers who might be pyscho killers etc.
'Nearly there' said the driver as he turned right and the headlights panned across the showy landscape to illuminate the place name we were heading to.
