You do know what happened to a much bigger south coast club, Portsmouth?

I keep reading this rubbish comparing Bournemouth and Pompey....it's complete b0llox.....Pompey wouldn't have gone anywhere if they had 100 mill chucked at them every year.

They won the FA Cup, and got into Europe, by overspending on a similar scale.

Bournemouth have done neither, and are arguably spending more out of control than Portsmouth did.

At least Portsmouth have a decent fanbase.

LOL....this is incredible......ok i'll put it in a way even the more witted among us can understand.........Pompey spent money they didn't have.......Bournemouth have a income of at least 100m......unless they plan to sign Lionel Messi this season then they are going to make a profit.....lads this isn't that difficult is it?

And if they lose their backer? Or Howe? What then for plucky little B'muff? You're the one who needs a rethink...

Yep, I'm sure if you dropped to the Championship the Russians would stick around with 7/8k rattling around playing Burton.

My God....:lolol:...O.K one more time....they've just banked 120 mill....they have a guaranteed income of at least 100 mill.....with figures like that they don't need a 'backer'......even in the unlikely event that he suddenly lost his mind and walked away they'd have beat off potential buyers off with a stick.....they couldn't be further removed from Pompey.

So who are we supposed to compete with?.....i don't think the penny has dropped for some of our fans that we are going to have to do exactly the same as Bournemouth and pay way over the odds for players....relying on our scouting network is is just unrealistic.

Disagree entirely. It's ALL about our scouting network for a team in our position. We can't compete on transfer fees and wages for established players, so its finding those quality players that other clubs scouting networks have failed to find. We've been very good at this for the last couple of seasons.

Yes AT....but finding Championship standard players is a world apart from finding PL quality......if that's truly what we are going to rest our hopes on then our hopes are resting on very little.

Erm... Aren't BHA indebted to Mr Bloom for around £100million...? What is that any different...? The mindset is different these days... AFCB are a possible goldmine to any potential investor, as is the case with all PL clubs, if managed well...

Our owner bought us as a Lg1 club for under £10 million pounds... To date he's had circa £250 million come into the club. He sold 25% of his share and completely de-risked his initial investment... Why the f*ck would he walk away from us...?

You 'walk away' from lower league clubs that are costing you money, and demand your investment back... You SELL PL clubs for as much profit as possible...

It's going to have to be an element of both. The scouting will be key, but has to go up a few notches to find PL players. Also the budget will have to increase to pay the bucks demanded by those players - everyone and their dog knows that Brighton now have 100m + income coming in now and agents will demand accordingly.

If only it was just the odd 100 mil. The key is how Demin and Bloom respectively view and manage that debt.
