Us, Palace, Monaco and Southampton all interested in 26 yr old Montpellier RB Ruben Aguilar, as per this usually reliable journalist:
https://twitter.com/BilelGhazi/status/1156669900003450881?s=19

Played at RB and as a wing back at times last season, so would suit Potter's formations. Has some very good characteristics according to his Whoscored profile: https://www.whoscored.com/Players/236546/Show/Ruben-Aguilar

Couldn't find a highlight reel so here's him scoring a goal instead: https://youtu.be/1ZBHXHPHjHc

Now for the rest...

Will be interesting to see if we can secure him, will he join the Potterlution on the south cost or will he instead opt for the delights of Croydon or Monaco, or perhaps even Southampton. Will surely be tough for us to compete with giants like those linked too..

Would it be easier to just list the RBs in the top Divs in Europe that we apparently aren't interested in?

Very good work. Stat Brother would be proud of how comprehensive you've been. And the term 'Potterlution' is pure brilliance!

Don’t like the kit he is wearing when he scores that goal, WAG nothing special too . I’m out.

It always seems that when we “compete” with other clubs for signings we never seem to win.

May be press coverage I know and not a criticism if it’s a finance thing but we always seem to get trumped. Can’t see us signing him above some of the other clubs on that list.

Lot of difference between interest and making a firm offer.

Though not confident on this one myself. I'm sure Brian will tell us NO later today

It's a good argument, but most of those clubs list have also been linked with other right-backs that we're supposedly interested in (Palace and Timothy Castagne, for example). Logic suggests that they can't buy them all, so we're bound to get at least one of our targets. I suppose that's why the recruitment team work with the 'cluster' system.

Well there's no way we'll be able to compete with Palace on wages. That lot will pay anything.
