He actually made his first appearance for NI on Friday in their 2-0 victory over Belarus.Has become our latest international and gets his first start tonight
How many capped players is that now?
Never thought I'd see the day of an Albion international call up whom I don't have a scooby about.
And Ireland’s Number One for Wayne HendersonAhh the halcyon days of chanting "we've got an England International" when Wardy got capped
He's featured more regularly in the U21s lately - he's still quite a young U21 (he'll still qualify as an U2 next season too, I believe). Contract up this summer (unless he's signed a new one, or there's an extension) so some work to be done between now and January, I would think. He's a bit under the radar but rather promising. A name to remember I think.
He’s on a development path and that ‘question’ applies to pretty much all of the academy - until they’re tested at the highest level even those closest to them don’t know if they’ll make it. Not sure I under your comment re selling hot prospects. If they’re that hot, we don’t tend to sell them - they’re usually loaned out to get better. If they’re not going to make it think we move them on for almost certainly a fair market valueTop lad who fits what we want personality and work ethic wise from what I hear. Means if we can hold onto him, he might not mind the Albion pathway with loans and such. The biggest question is whether he'll ever be more than the amazing level of a decent Championship Pro. We'd have killed for a few of those years ago and the club should be proud we churn them out now. It's just harder in our current situation to make substancial money out of them if they don't make it here. We don't seem able to do the whole selling hot prospects while their value is highest.
No wonder they never won anything! And Ireland’s Number One for Wayne Henderson
John Napier (and no relation to Kit)Great to be getting a full senior cap at 19 though, even if it is 'only' Northern Ireland (sorry!) I can still remember when we were thrilled to have a player called up for them though, back in the day; let's hear it for Bob Napier!
Our two full backs (Tasker & Slater) are very good too.Seen quite a few U21's this season, McConville, Peupion and Duffus have been the most consistent players week in and out.
Feel McConville is ready for a loan move in January as the U21's games arent really testing him now. Would definitely be comfortable playing for a League 1 club like a Charlton (Nathan Jones connection) or Lincoln,
Ah yes Bob Napier. Brother of the famous Ronnie Napier. He's featured more regularly in the U21s lately - he's still quite a young U21 (he'll still qualify as an U2 next season too, I believe).l

Sorry, yes, John - late at night! OP now amended.John Napier (and no relation to Kit)
We had Napier and O'Sullivan as our sole internationals in my early days of watching the Albion
Imari Samuels is a fine LB too.Our two full backs (Tasker & Slater) are very good too.
