It was apparently used by the hour until today!!
The hotel has been very unlucky with fires over the last few years., which is a shame as TripAdvisor gives it's such good reviews. Hopefully it wasn't due to a careless seagull picking up a lit cigarette and then dropping it on the building. I think that's what happened to the West Pier.

A speedboat went past the end of the pier and threw a Molotov on it.
There is absolutely no evidence that this was connected to the Noble Organisation who would have been in no way motivated by stopping a rival pier being developed that they had ever lobbied against and their legal challenges to the latest regeneration plan failing shortly beforehand is entirely coincidental.
