I’m not so sure Roy would (ahem), appreciate being called a genius, it goes against his humble, shy nature tbh. He had an act, which disguised his stage fright … he was a very talented man.
To me, he’s brilliant, at times captivating but I do prefer his early stuff with both the Move and ELO… Cherry Blossom Clinic (revisited) touches on near genius l (for me) but ultimately he’ll leave a superb muisical legacy … I don’t think he’d ask for much more.
