Any Eclipse drinkers who used to go to the games on the coach remember the name of that pub in Derby (olden times baseball ground era) now that was the darkest corner of the world of public houses. Sparsely populated with huge string vest wearing miners supping what looked like tar. Laughing thier bollocks off at 30 or so Pringle jumpered whippersnappers whos fav tipple was Lager n lime.

That would be The Jubliee City and was in the pub when your coach pulled up,if i remember it right we won 3-0 there that day.

Went in the Rocket when Spurs played at Highfield Road in the early 2000's. Good boozer, I reckon. The cloths on the Pool Tables are England flags, all the beer mats are England flags, England flags in the door. And songs like Olivers Army, on the jukebox :lolol:.

Yes it does have a certain St George's feel to it! I would have to disagree about it being a 'good boozer' though, Cov isn't exactly packed with nice pubs, but the Rocket is definitely one of the worst...

never seen a rougher pub than the one we used at Port Vale in the 70's. the only thing that stopped the locals ripping us limb from limb was that the old Div 1 had no games due to an England International and the Stoke fans came to visit the neighbours.
bloody mayhem all day and no one was interested in battering the southerners, they were to busy kicking shit out of each other.

was that the break dancing in the seats day or the day of the Watson Eubank fight @ WHL?

Break dancing and huge amounts of jumping up n down upon the wooden floor of the stand to the amusement of the locals, whom from memory applauded our efforts. By ek as like them were the days

On the way out of Derby after the game we passed a posse of Derby fans who were trying to impress us with their break dancing skills on the side of the road.

I think the roughest pub has to be the Swan and Railway outside of Wigan station. Just quite simply a dump which only sold cans when we were up there as the beer lines had allegedly been contaminated!

Calm down my dear, Wigan is ruff on a friday and sat night especially if your not a casual boy :US:

Is this the pub you mean ?

Not a bad pub as they go however i used to go in there every wed during the mid 80s, before the Alternative night across the canal in Wigan pier nightclub (Mark 2 for the buffs), And we had to wreck to Postman pat  because they would not play any psychobilly

Yes mate. That's the one.

Been to Wigan 3 times with Spurs, and have gone in there every time. The chippy opposite the station is just .

Wigan is by far my favourite away day of the season.

See you next season.:drink:
