Allegedly we still manage to spend more than ever every season and yet the quality gets worse and worse as we make good money in transfers out too. Something not quite right there imo

Reckon it's almost certainly true that we do spend progressively more every season, by the club's own rates. Seems to be progressively adrift of what the market rates are though eh? Which is why the likes of Murray and Barnes are allowed to just drift off, rather than the club pay them the relatively modest pay rise that would keep them sweet. Would certainly be far cheaper than trying to buy like-for-like replacements, as this season's events have shown.
