Did you miss my second reason?
If you're not a natural goal scorer you can still get quite a lot of goals if the system is set up to help you, rather than you being part of a team.
I'm not arguing whether mccormack is better or worse than CMS, just a) stats can be misleading b) cms will be a better player this season than he was last season.

Are they not reliable enough for you?
Just out of interest, have they actually said in no uncertain terms that that is what is happening, or have they 'alluded' to it without ever using the words McCormack, Leeds and Varney? Not trying to stir, just I've never see them say something definite like that, they tend to be like the modern day psychics, say a few words and let everyone fit them round their own ideas.

They've said that they're "in very advanced talks with a player, but the selling club won't let him join until they sign a replacement". Also, the BBS source that CPFC2010 say is "pretty much spot on" says that we're waiting for Varney to join Leeds before we can get him.

I hope for your sake that all your faith is repaid by CPF2010 otherwise you're going to have a miserable summer. As has been said by the OP, we've (understandably) been fed this line in past, as have Coventry and a few other clubs and it doesn't bode well.
My other concern for you is that you seem to be loosing your best players which is going to make it difficult to attract new quality players.
You're in for few really crappy years .... and I for one am going to thoroughly enjoy it.
BTW, the scum jibe was simply that and you are correct that some on here were/are being very precious about, however it's all about class or in this case the complete lack of it. you must be very pround

Losing our best players? I don't think so. We've lost a very good player in Clyne. We've willingly sold Ambrose who wasn't one of our best players, he was just "quite good" last season.
A few really crappy years? I really doubt it.

Well you seem to be in the minority then, two of my mates are Palace fans and they are not looking forward to the next few years. One appears to be in the know (he's certainly seems to have more info than your average fan) and his view is that CPFC2010 are trying to hold the ship together, nothing more, nothing less. Your ground is a tip ( his words were ' a sh*thole') with limited scope for expansion in terms of seats, capcaity would be less than Falmer, around 22k mark if you are lucky. It'll look good but will be on the small size, IF they can get the required planning permission. The cost of redeveloping is significant and will put a strain on the CPFC2010 especially as they don't want be running the club in the first place. Taking into account the limited budget, and it is limited, you are in from a crappy few years. The other wont even talk to me about football especially about how we are doing and how you aren't.

Gardner and Clyne were by far your best two defenders. Speroni isn't getting any younger so your defence is a great deal worse off than last season, at the moment.
