You also have to factor in ''stability'' in a coaching capacity
If he goes somewhere else the managerial merry go round is such that he could have ended up going somewhere as a No 1 or a No2 and the manager and his assistant are sacked within a few months. There is a 3/4 year stability of Manager at Brighton as it currently stands. Plus he was already doing some coaching last year with us so it probably was an easy decision for him to make once he had been told we wouldn't be offering him a new ''playing contract''
Going to be a very very good manager one day.
Taking over when CH decides to retire. Liverpool boot room style succession in the making?
For those interested in seeing Steve's elbow smash, its around the 1:18 mark here. Perhaps poetic that he only picked up a yellow card for his troubles.

That one's for you, Liam...
One of my favourite games from our promotion seasonWatch that video. The roar for each goal is huge. Brilliant support.
I wonder why he gained his license from Irish FA?

A quick big of googling and it seems a lot cheaper with them than The FA here. Interesting this license is a pre-requisite for anyone wishing to be a PL first team manager.
Unless things have changed recently, UEFA coaching badges are much cheaper on the continent, which explains why there is such a dearth of licensed British coaches. A few years ago Spain had over 2000 coaches with pro licences. England had about 200. The discrepancy is even bigger at A and B level. In Iceland every kid from four has a UEFA accredited coach. To coach over 10s you need a B-licence.
Anyway, well done, Liam!

Seems low from Spain bearing in mind they had 25,000 in 2012!
