Another vote for DW they are very good was unaware he was a Palarse fan though
It's not really the sort of thing you'd shout from the rooftops, is it?

Do what I did.

Wait till your neighbour decides they need a new roof.

Hope they contract https://www.russtheroofer.com/

While a Russ of some kind was on their roof, call out:-

"Hey Russ any chance you can slide those tiles back in for me?"

One of the Russ' duly obliged and earned the easiest £20 in history.
It was only a few minutes work.

Have used Russ a number of times before for roofing works and would highly recommend him to anyone who has any roofing issues

Obviously I can't recommend him, but the fact my neighbour trusted him to do the job is good enough for me.

I'm amazed my neighbour didn't decide to pop up and re-tile his roof on a blustery Sunday afternoon.

That's right I live next door to one of 'those' people.

I'm sure he looks upon my general cackhandedness with the same bewilderment as I do when he's knocking up an outside storage room which doubles up as a climbing frame and office.

I have said to trades that it's only a small job. I had no intention of telling them how to do their job but was hoping to tempt them to "fit in" a small cash job even if busy. It works sometimes.

These roof puns often go over my head.
I don't think they do.

You see what's happened is posters have been making puns about roofs and roofing accoutrements.
A fact you readily acknowledge.

But what then transpired is you used the common phrase for not understanding 'over my head' to suggest joining in was beyond you.

Now this next part is where the genius comes into play.

When indoors, at some nonspecific distance 'over my head' will actually be ...

...

...wait for it ...

... a roof.

So essentially by using the common saying for not understanding roof puns, you've gone right ahead and used a roof pun.

Brilliant.
