What's odd is that he played the shot with such pace that if he missed the black would be left over the pocket.

That's one of the commonest shots in the game and is almost always played with more power, partly so the black might disappear up the other end of the table if it doesn't drop. Hmmm...

Really. ???

Try reading the original post in the thread then. Absolutely pathetic start to your post too, you disagree with something I said so you call me a twat? Jesus, why the hostility. I don't know what is wrong with some people, I really don't. Hide behind your keyboard and call me a twat all you like, but it's very pathetic and sad.

It wasn't Durlston who called you a twat! In any case, you pretty much just summed up NSC unfortunately :glare:

I think Skint Gull is almost certainly spot on when he says with Ronnie (I wouldn't feel the same about certain other players) there is nothing sinister, he just suddenly decided he didn't give a shit whether he won or lost. It has happened before, but if you'd backed him to win, you're not happy and that's where the unprofessionalism comes in.

It wasn't a shot played with any of the percentages in mind, and was actually a lot easier than the missed black by Jamie Burnett that sparked a year-long and ongoing match-fixing probe. The difference with that one being the bookies clearly had an inkling in advance, and had stopped taking bets well before the match on a 9-3 scoreline. I'm sure that wasn't the case here.

The comment about being a twat was obviously not just from this thread, that would be well OTT. It comes from the fact that most daft comments on here these days will either be by you or Wizard, pretty much daily. Can you really not see the deliberateness (is that a new word??) of that missed black?

I know that, I was quoting the original post to point out that what the person who called me a twat was saying, was wrong. Shockingly.

Some of the people on here are morons. But it's easy to call someone a twat when there's no comeback. Absolutely pathetic.

Or by playing it slowly you give gravity more of a chance, increasing your margin for error and its more likely to go in, he would have expected it to go in so thats why he wouldn't have hit it hard to make sure it do go safe if he missed. There is nothing wrong with him conceeding the frame when the ball is over the pocket like it was here, its pretty common practice.

So is that really the only shot that makes this appear that he threw the entire match or were there others as well?

Maybe he just wasn't overly motivated to win the tournament and only participated as he was under contract / required to appear, why play several rounds of snooker in a tournament if your not interested in winning it when you can go out early and go and do your own thing elsewhere - he hardly needs the money now does he?
