Was listening to an Arsenal-fan caller on TalkSport earlier who (in summary) said Man U were played off the park "Two shots, two goals and Roma missed a hatful of sitters"

Always makes me wonder if I'm watching the same game. Roma did miss a couple of good chances, but Ronaldo hit the post and blazed one over, Rooney skewed a sitter wide and Carrick should have hit the target.

Odd how people only see what they want to.

Thank you.

But if you are not a Plastic Manc, is it compulsory to hate them?

I have enjoyed watching them play for 50 years and, for much of that time, they have played good attacking football that is a pleasure to watch. I have also enjoyed watching Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, etc., etc. in the times they have played really well. Is it a crime to enjoy watching top quality football, regardless of who is playing it?

My team is the Albion, but I don't live in Sussex..does that make me a Plastic Seagull?

I simply don't understand the blind, childish, hatred of Man U and the very predictable and boring comments from those who see only what they want to see and not what they actually see.

I wish Albion had a stadium like Old Trafford, I dream of having a team like they have, and I couldn't care less how many millions all over the world wore Albion shirts but never saw a live match. It is the sign of a really successful club whose quality football has been matched by first-class marketing.

We shouild be aspiring to those things, not deriding them.
Good post. And as far as I can see, Man Utd as a club show a good deal more CLASS than some other supposed big (ish) clubs. Ferguson wrote into the FA in support of Albion fans in protest at the twats fleecing the club.

On the other hand, you have Aston Villa who whined when they had to pay £1m for Gareth Barry despite the fact they STOLE him from us. And Chelsea - what a chavvy grubby little club they are. When they trashed the Goldstone in 1984, I remember seeing a letter from Ken Bates blaming Albion for the problems. No hint of an apology. And the less said about sordid incompetent Leeds, the better.
