Website currently shows the number of tickets available as 1,131. I assume that this is out of the 3,425 total allocation, but don’t know for sure.

Here's hoping that means everyone was champing at the bit to buy IMMEDIATELY, even though they had 18 hours to do it.

Its not a normal Tier 1 is it. Its not simply the 3,400 highest points-holders (any number of whom might be away on holiday / unwilling to fly / skint / unable to get time off work / etc).

It is the 3,400 highest points-holders from the list of people who consciously chose to register their intention to buy a ticket - just 5 days ago. Logic dictates that most of those will indeed go through with buying, leaving at a guess 500 or so tickets for T2...

That is interesting. So we either sold 1,700 in 5 minutes, or the 'tickets remaining' figure may not be the figure left of ALL the tickets

...many of whom knew they were guaranteed a ticket, so were able to book travel in advance.

Agreed, which is why I’ve allocated numbers on my two seater one tiered sofa for the away leg…sold out by the way

True but if it was allocated seating maybe there could have been a bigger allocation!
