Here a few photos I took

What an incredible building that 'Vittoriano' is.

We had the usual long list of sites / sights to tick off - Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Pantheon, etc, but this place - that to my ignorant shame, I knew nothing of - blew me away. The views of it, and from it, are spectacular - but none of the photos I took come close to conveying the incredible SCALE of the thing.

For anyone who didn't go / hasn't been - just focus on the statue of Victor Emmanuel on his horse at the centre - then look at the tiny people immediately below the plinth of that, to see how huge just that is.

And the sad part is that the square where the Vittoriano sits (Piazza Venezia) is currently invaded by the underground's construction site, and will be for the next 8 years at least. Otherwise it would look like this.
