I can only imagine he was instructed by his legal team to somehow try and remind the Jury of his lovely, cosy public persona? If so, comprehensively misjudged as if I was sitting in the jury I'd be thinking, apart from his songs being shite, that he was grossly disrespecting the charges he has been bought up on. Not to mention the waste of everyone's time. Very odd behaviour.

Yep, that's the only reason I could think of why he did it, and exactly how I would feel if I saw it. Seems like the jury did too. The courtnews twitter account described them as 'stony faced' during it.

I would be cynically thinking it was a contrived effort to win me over, and wonder why he wouldn't let facts speak for themselves.

Makes the song Two little boys seem a double entendre now on reflection. :(

All these childhood television icons from the 60s/70's/80's are going to need their own jail soon.

Can sort of understand the stance of his wife. But not that of his daughter. All that holding hands shit en route to court every day when she must have been progressively hating him more every day they were in court. Very odd.

I guess families just work differently from courts of justice. Maybe his daughter has had many years to come to terms with what he did and has now forgiven him.

Not so sure. As a kid, or as a kid that's become a grown up, how do you ever come to terms with your parent abusing your best friend?

Genuinely upset at this. A collective part of the nation's innocence has died today. I'll have to reset my brain now. I thought he was great.

Absolutely this. Got really fond memories of watching Rolf's Cartoon Time with my dear departed Dad.

A massive part of my childhood has gone out the window recently.

Rolf Harris was one of the reasons I learnt to swim.

You know despite the verdict I still can't help thinking he wasn't so bad. 10 counts are someone he had an affair with up to the age of 26 I think? I'm not saying that is right but not sure he deserves to go to prison and have a otherwise brilliant career ruined because of it.

Very hard to defend yourself against charges that happened 30 to 40 years ago.

7 charges concern that woman, 3 charges concern Tonya Lee and one each for two other women. Four women in total.

The NAPC say that since the charges have been made public, they've heard complaints from 26 other women.

Fiar point.

The charges are as follows:

Harris was found guilty of all 12 charges he was prosecuted on. They were:

Count One: A woman said Harris touched her inappropriately when she was just seven or eight while he was signing autographs in Hampshire in the late 1960s
Count two: Harris was accused of groping a teenage waitress's bottom at a charity event in Cambridge in the 1970s
Counts three to nine: A childhood friend of Mr Harris' daughter said he repeatedly indecently assaulted her between the ages of 13 and 19, including once when his daughter was asleep in the same room. He admitted a relationship with the woman, but said it began after she turned 18
Counts 10 to 12: Australian woman Tonya Lee, who has waived her right to anonymity, said he fondled her three times on one day while she was on a theatre group trip to the UK at the age of 15.
