I quite liked watching him play he had moments of magic and moments of comedy.
It's a shame he couldn't be more consistent, he looked like a decent player at times.
And the tackle on Sanchez when we played arsenal was flippin brilliant.

I liked him a lot and thought he looked raw but promising. Whether he didn't get the coaching he needed or didn't work hard enough in training, he didn't improve as fast as the team did. That backpass at Derby that cost us two points probably did for him as far as Hughton was concerned, while his off-field issues can't have helped.

Little-known fact: he is hard-of-hearing, which perhaps could have caused communication problems with teammates during games.

Hughton could be really quite ruthless with some players albeit in his usual mild-mannered way. Sometimes players lost his trust with a bad game or simply in a moment such as that backpass. After that Hughton only used him if really necessary.
A similar example is Hemed hardly getting a look in after his red against Newcastle.

He definitely had enough talent to have been a regular at Championship level. That was par for his talent, but sadly not his attitude. Clearly lacking, and his off the pitch issues must have built into this. A waste really.

I was at that Swindon game, probably one of the best goals I have seen live. There was a collective in take of breath amongst the whole crowd and even home fans were clapping it.

All the people saying 'was her ever good?'.

Yeah, he was. He deservedly won Young Player of the Season and had a lot of attributes that you can't teach.

I would be amazed if his career has turned out too much better than previous Young Player of the Season award winners. I assume Dunk won it at least once though, and he's done rather nicely.

I remember Warren O'Hora winning it last season and he's playing fairly regularly for MK Dons this season on loan which is encouraging.

I'm very pleased he's playing for my local side, and will go along to watch when restrictions are lifted.

As for his record with us, what's wrong with applauding the considerable success, tackles and 'that' goal he had with us instead of trotting out that boring old chestnut 'what he might of been..'. Many players are with us for 2-3 seasons before moving on. Rohan was more than value for money when he was with us, don't care what's happened afterwards he was a bloody good player for the Albion.

Both Alzate and March are former winners.

Off field issues? Do you mean dick head, or mental health type things? It seems to me that only a special kind of fool would sabotage their own career. I do occasionally mock the afflicted, but I'd rather not.

Good for him - hopefully he can get a full pre-season under his belt and then be in the starting line up on the first day. He needs a good long run in a team somewhere and 28 he's not incapable of getting himself back into league football.

I can clearly remember coming away from Dean Court after a 1-1 there, and a Muff fan in front of us was walking along raving about "their big lad in midfield", and what a great prospect he was. He had indeed absolutely bossed it and put in one of those rampaging performances where he was everywhere.

Such a shame he didn't live up to what I and many others thought he would become. I thought we had a real star on our hands there.
