will be interesting if they get some unknown in straight away… would suggest they’ve been doing their due diligence and have targeted someone…

… if they just install a caretaker until end of season… or choose someone silly like Ted Lasso… then getting rid of Rodgers will look a bit desperate.

No team in this modern era of hundreds of millions of pounds, global brand, EPL football, just sacks a manager only to find out nobody wants the job.

They can change manager but it won’t change things much until the underlaying issues are rectified. Their poor recruitment is most to blame for their decline, not Rodgers.

You can’t lose key players like Fofana and Schmeichel, not bring in adequate replacements and expect to keep on overachieving.

A club needs to keep moving forward and be constantly looking for ways to improve. The minute that stops, they will be overtaken by others.

I appreciate you’re more obsessed with Tottenham than you are Brighton but slow yourself down.
Think you'll find I'm not, however you're on a Brighton fan's site, how weird.

The surprising thing is that they’re another club who’s pulled the trigger without having someone lined up ready to take over.

They’re leaving Rodgers assistants to take over for their game against Villa in a couple of days. They’re not even sure if they want a permanent manager now or to wait until the summer.

Also names linked so far are predictable: Benitez, Bielsa, Postecoglou and Thomas Frank.

At least Leicester have sorted out their FFP issues by offloading at the start of the season, but have not replaced with cheaper options that were not too much of a downgrade, and their position reflects this.

Probably too late to save them, particularly if they draft in a Nathan Jones type appointment.
