Love football, but know I would f*** it up, cant really f*** up being a degenerate rock star.

Footballer but not neccessarily a Premiership one, I would love to play for my home town team. El Abd/Elphick are living the dream.

Rock star. Firstly if you're crap at football you will get found out, but you can be crap at music and still build up a following as you're seen as 'different' or you can sometimes benefit from the "emperor's new clothes" syndrome.

Plus when you've retired as a footballer apart from a few veterans games that's pretty much it. But rock stars never really retire and can still rake it in even when they're a load of doddery old pensioners. Plus they can keep repackaging their old material in umpteen new formats and get their fans to by the same songs about half-a-dozen times.

Rock star. You can still play a bit of football and (if you're good) look credible in charity games on ITV. Can't think of any footballer who's looked credible as a musician.

If you're already a rock star, you will have already gone through the working-your-arse-off stage. To continue being a rock star, I suspect it's less work than sustaining being a top premiership footballer.

I would take the rock-star option too. If you enjoy it you can do it for a long time too (assuming you don't get stupid with drink/drugs/etc.). Also, there's still hope (I could write some great songs) to be a rock-star, there's NO hope of me becoming a premiership footballer (too old, no talent etc. )

It never was easy, but you have to admit there is a fair amount of luck in it as well. It's about being in the right place at the right time, knowing the right people, having the look or the sound that people want (i.e. that they think will sell), etc. A lot of the time it's simply other people's tastes and value judgements that can make or break an act rather than the inherent skill or talent of the performers. There is no automatic correlation between hard work and superstardom, quite often hard work gets you nowhere. Also there can only ever be a handful of superstars at the top of the pyramid, the rest of the pyramid is made up of extremely-hardworking but ultimately doomed (success-wise) performers.

i'd be a kind of misunderstood GENIUS........i'd probably write all the songs, but probably play bass or something......but all the girls would love me because i'm so IN TOUCH with my FEELINGS and i'm COMPLICATED and all that stuff

then i'd get shacked up with some belgian artist or something

plus all the drink and drugs that you can't really do as a top footballer.....plus having to eat healthily would become a right old BORE


although if i was a top footballer, i'd definitely be a flair one......so would probably go down the drink and drug route anyway....:bosnich:
