Yes, that'll be important. Same for some of us fans too - I'm starting to understand some of the Chelsea fans lukewarm reaction to Potter. We too have lost a manager we didn't want to lose, and while I'll welcome and support RDZ I'll find it hard to warm to him just yet - just because he isn't Potter.

Still, I wasn't happy when we sacked Hughton, but I got over it. A lot of bad things have happened since those younger, happier days though - it may take me a bit longer this time.

Quite a few Chelsea fans wanted rid of Tuchel. They just wanted a bigger name than Potter as replacement. Our new manager has a two part surname so I think we have done better than them in the big name department.

Would think he’s bound to give hime some leeway to bring in a player or two of his choosing (subject to our usual criteria obviously). The war chest is looking much healthier than it was (and we’ve got De Z in without having to buy him out of anywhere).

Agree, but I think we need to add some more quality (maybe youngsters). We lost too many players last summer, and I fear that there will be plenty of interest in the likes of Caicedo, Sanchez and Mac Allister next summer. If we lose them, having sold Burn, Biss, Cucu and Maups this year, it's expecting a lot of the current players we have to cover for that. Note also that Lallana is out of contract next summer, and I'm not entirely convinced we should extend it.

Exciting appointment but I know that he and his team have to get work permits, so I'm assuming he won't be allowed on the training ground until those are through, and I see reports of 'hoping' to be before Liverpool ?

Shame as this current break would have been perfect to bed him and his team in, but it now appears that a significant part of it (if not all of it) will be wasted waiting for work permits

A work permit for RDZ isn't what's under discussion here - it appears that because of the sporting excellence - or whatever it's called - status it is a gimme. It's his small army of assistants that might take a bit of time. Don't know why they can't hang out at Lancing, unpaid, just for the fun of it for a few days though.

No, I don’t think so. His employment contract will be subject to the permit being applied for and granted but there is nothing stopping us from paying him whilst awaiting approval.
