Q1: It's a pretty clear statement in English. Don't you know the difference between 'wanting' something and being 'desperate' for something?

Q2: I think if he was our first choice it would have happened already. Chelsea sacked Tuchel and got their first choice in two days. Potter left us ten days ago. Its been a week since we were told that Zerbi was watching all of our games. If our succession plan had the words 'de Zerbi' on the top, and he impressed in interview, then this would have been signed and delivered by now.

On your point 2 KG. I'd agree it would appear he isn't necessarily the first choice, but it also makes sense to speak to him fully as he's the only one on published short lists who is without a club and Contract.

Lens manager signed New contract to 2025 months ago, Palmerias and Bodo/Glimt bosses gave most direct rebuffs "if" what's reported is true and not BS.

Another factor. Even if De Zerbi wasn't our first choice, it makes sense in the betting markets to speak to him and for that to be public as the others all drift in the odds....... might be a good time for a gambling powerhouse with a global syndicate to start lumping on the actual candidate, being talked to in private!

These aren't the players you're looking for.

Next manager markets are too easily manipulated for any serious bookmaker to expose themself in any significant manner.

Even if you knew who was set to be announced as our next manager, good luck getting anything worthwhile staked on it.

Can’t help but think if he is now our preferred candidate why haven’t we already got this over the line.

Still think there is a fair way to go in this and at some point Knutsen or Svensson will come back into the mix

I think the announcement will be held back until after the royal funeral, so Tuesday it is.
