Just catching up with RDZ's press conference from yesterday and one of the things that struck me was his record away from home. One of the hacks said that Shakhtar went unbeaten for the season and Sassoulo had an amazing record away. Let's hope that standard continues at the Albion – especially in the next few games.
As for the rest of it, he's a joy to watch and listen to, who isn't afraid of veering off script and getting his point across. The now-departed Potter-loving pizza box botherer always used to complain that press conferences were pointless, but that's clearly nonsense (much like a lot of the other stuff he posted!). Loads of great snippets about the players and RDZ's mentality in there.

Funny that some hacks this morning seem to think that Roberto is on Chelsea, Tottenham shortlist and others say Chelsea aren't interested. 1 report says Tottenham given boost in Roberto joining them simply because he wants to remain in Premier league rather than serie A! Then, he's the prime candidate to replace Mikel Arteta at Arsenal when he moves on!

Even from the imperfect view from the NS today, I could see carefully worked triangles all over the place. Every Albion player had options, but you also could see the next part of the passing sequence, whatever first option was taken.
The obvious aim, to unleash any outfield player in on goal.
Wolves players were just passive suckers to the whole thing, Making obvious, fruitless sprints to close down, falling for the traps every time.
RDZ is a genius. It appears so simple, but who else is replicating it?
It goes way beyond Steele/Dunk/Webster inviting a press.

We said exactly the same…..the options available to anyone on the ball at almost any point were incredible, as was the movement ahead of them and the passing (usually first time, and smacked hard) exploited the gaps even more. Fascinating to watch - amazing coaching and exceptionally talented players who listen.

A couple of respected football writers for the broadsheets, can’t recall which just now, have recently written that all the other EPL managers are trying to implement stuff gleaned from watching RDZ. Even Abu Dhabi, apparently.
The mere fact that Pervis got in a couple of times, just tells everyone all they needed to know, but superb movement…..
It really was majestic at times.

Yesterday's result was fantastic, especially given the changes and stepping up of squad players. Billy Gilmour running the show in the absence of Ali Mac and Caicedo reminded me of Sidwell and Ollie Norwood driving our first ever win at Hillsborough when replacing Kayal and Stephens.
In all the celebrations I just wanted to comment on something that may have been overlooked in RDZ's management this week. In the pre-match press conference, he spoke about how he felt more love for his players after the adversity and disappointment of Wembley and Wednesday, than when we won great victories because, I'm paraphrasing, he could see how much they cared.

'We've come a long, long way together, through the hard times and the good' are the words that start the song we all wanted to hear at the close of last Sunday. It just sums up the journey of this club. Its nice to have a boss who so clearly understands that the hard times are essential. They bind us together and make the good times more profound.

I did wonder if they had that lined up on the pa had we won the penalty shoot out. I love hearing that at the end of games because it reminds me of when we first got to the Amex and when we really knew things had changed
