I might try to get along to this with my sons, although none of the other "celebs" named so far have quite the pull of Bobby Carlos.

The Lewes support is full of celebs isn't it so they will know famous footballers - and they are a bit of a woke crucifix to all the balding old Tommy Robinson bellends out there too - so a trendy thing to support

They run the charity that the match is being played in aid of

I can't answer that, but I do remember Socrates turning out for a non-league team years back. I think he was in his fifties. I guess maybe the chairman knows someone who knows someone....

The game is being run by Striver, an abuse free social media platform created by footballers (and a tech entrepreneur) for football fans. Roberto Carlos and Gilberto Silva are the two footballers behind its launch along with Tim Chase who is the tech guy. They are raising money for CALM which is their chosen charity under the banner StriveAid.

Footballers get involved with all sorts of projects when they retire, looking for ways to invest money, keep busy etc. Looks even better for them when there is some sort of social/charity aspect to it as well.
