I know it doesnt work like this, but seeing as he basically refused to be on the bench, we shouldnt be paying him.
Im pretty sure if anyone of us refused to do our job we would very quickly not be paid
Well yes. He's committed gross misconduct and if we sacked him, he would have very little chance of getting compensation for unfair dismissal.

Of course, we would receive no transfer fee either.

A deliberate planned undermining of Brighton and Hove albion by tod boehly and Chelsea, recruitment of a player that has been unprofessional and disruptive with the sole purpose for the encouragement for their main transfer target who we are refusing to sell to act in the same way to reduce our price demand

We have one of the most dysfunctional relationships two clubs have ever had, surely?

It's like two best mates. We the intelligent, little one them the big, stupid one. They try and bully us, we prod back, they end up doing daft things and sometimes punch us in the head. Then we kiss and make up. Then back to the bantz. Everyone else looking on thinking 'do these two love or hate each other?
Even we're not sure.

Would be beneficial to us if someone else showed interest…

SSN showed a press conference with Thomas Frankel who pointed to the 105m for Rice in the final year of his contract and another similarly large deal for a player in the final year of his contract. Seemed to be, with a straight face, suggesting such a fee wouldn't be ridiculous.

While Caicedo isn't in the last year of his contract, pointing to the Rice deal as a benchmark feels like we can't really be too incredulous.

EDIT: That might be a little unfair on Tuchel's answer. Just had the video pop up on twitter. He does seem to suggest the 40m would be a good price (but also points to 100m+ figures:

Whilst Sanchez seems to have a very high opinion of himself , his stats are good . He must be worth at least £20m

I doubt there'll be any shortage of people ready to drive him up there.

A real shame how this has all ended.
