I agree, but Ben Roberts whispering in his ear is going to affect his attitude. I reserve most of my ire for Roberts, who unsettled him.

I never really rated him whilst he was here, and I’m absolutely delighted to get a fee of £25m+ for him.

Ability-aside, his attitude when he was dropped for Jason Steele seemed to be really, really poor. Massively disrespectful to his colleague.

Personally, I’m delighted he’s gone if that was his attitude towards his teammate.

It's not anymore as FIFA have imposed a maximum of 5 years to amortise transfer fees through the accounts for FFP from this summer on wards.

He then went on to say “He decides everything. Robert decides and at the moment it’s like this. He wanted it this way, not me, not the club.”

Aside from that Palace one last season, has there been that many clangers?? For every clanger there was probably 50 high balls he claimed, just that when a mistake is made claiming a high ball it invariably leads to a clear chance for the opposition.

Maybe my memory is bad but I don’t remember that many or are people just saying that because he’s left? Steele also made a few clangers last season, I think people forget all goalkeepers make mistakes.

For what little they are worth, my thoughts are...

We don't know what was going on in Sanchez's life or his mind. We've seen with Knockaert some times a player is going through mental health issues and not sharing it publicly until they were ready to do so, with Billy Gilmour there was the issue of a stalker and the stress of the court case around that, which we don't hear about until it can be legally shared. There are times where there is much more going on in players lives than we are privvy to. Maybe it was a simple case of throwing toys out the pram, but maybe there was something more to it that we won't know until people are allowed/willing to share.

Sanchez went from third choice keeper who just come back from a lower league loan, to first choice, in part because Walton was injured and Potter wasn't happy with Ryan. We weren't left without a keeper, and maybe Mcgill would have been a similar success to Sanchez had he been called on. But he wasn't, so I find it hard to get upset about what might have happened when we're well past the point that it could, and we know that it didn't.

He was a good keeper for us in the main. His performances did drop off a bit, and when De Zerbi came in and changed how we played, he didn't quite have the strengths needed. It's easy to sit behind a computer and say 'he should have just learned', but might not be that easy. Depending on how early he started to specialise as a keeper, it could be a much steeper learning curve than some fans are appreciating.

So ultimately I'm in a place of thanks for the service, thanks for the 25m, good luck with your future career (except when you face us). Hopefully it will help inspire some of the younger keepers in our academy.

Sure but ‘he decides everything’, as a professional my expectation is you work hard and strive to regain your place.

Sorry but I disagree on this and the onus is on the player to ensure he is ready to play not on the manager to select him.
