We seem to be being overun and outplayed in midfield in recent games.

Could Robert Lee with his experience, knowledge and undoubted ability be able to link with the youthfulness, energy and running of Nicholas and Hammond to provide, in the short term, what Oatway and Carpenter are not.

He is apparently bored with the school run and want's to play again.

According to the papers he has had a few offers but none that appeal to him.

I would think that he probably lives back down South and would not want to move for a short contract or stay in a hotel all week.

I do not know the exact finances available and what he would want as a wage but there must be some money available as people are talking of bringing in McGammon of Millwall. We have taken 3 players off of the wage bill and only added Claridge is he on the equivalent of those three.

Quality player, could definitely do something short term for us.

All we'd need to do to seal the deal is provide another free bus pass :jester:

I would doubt that very much BG, you know only to well how "shrewd" our dear chairman is.

Bet he would want £2000 a week. Why not offer him a pay as you play deal or pounds for points?

But that would mean the board seeking value for money from the pay bill. There is no way we could afford to be so creative with our remuneration policy.

Socrates only had five touches and lasted for 15 minutes on Saturday!

That was becuase he could get warm and the ref wouldnt allow him to play with a lighted ciggie on the pitch
