‘Trendy Liberal Elite’ - reached number 4, in 1994?

Not quite, they were a Robert Smith side project. They did get to number 4 in 1994 with Guardian up the Arse though.

go stick a copy of the Guardian where the sun doesn't shine.

This is already part of my morning routine....a daily act of deference after my run and shower and moisturising but crucially before reading it with my Eggs Royale. I’m then ready, armed and woke with my day’s views and opinions.

So if someone expresses an opinion you don't agree with they are a troll? I bet you are an advocate for free speech and tolerance? 'Tolerance' as long as you agree with me!!!

Blimey, just stumbled across this thread and read it all the way through.

Two questions, why can't you understand the English language and where's all your winky mates?

Was Monumental Bell-end one of theirs?

I've had to do without the run of late, due to coughing like a barsteward, but I simply couldn't go a day without taking an Owen Jones Op-Ed anally. It's so much easier to understand. Then a cup of Fair Trade Ethiopian coffee, harvested by real Ethiopians, an organic avocado and I'm all set to waste the day injecting articles by Victoria Coren-Mitchell directly into my japseye and listening to LSK remixes of the best tracks from Trendy Liberal Elite before the sun goes over the yard arm and I can crack open a can of Staypuft Chocolate Porter (extra artisan version, 8% ABV)

I always get my coffee on the go. Preferably from near a newsagent. There I can peer at all the Daily Mail readers mouthing the word troll at them in three different languages.

I saw one chap buying a copy of the Daily Mail and the Guardian the other day..... Along with a packet if salt. I asked him if he had heard the new one but TLE to show how right on I was but he hadn't. He just walked away mumbling something about Robbie Fowler being black.

What on earth does one otherwise do?

As an aside, I’ve gone off Fair Trade. I read an article that said the success of the movement has raised many coffee harvesting nations out of poverty. Wanting to maintain a higher level of patronising white patronage I use a new company which means tests the farmers, and checks things like number of cataracts and flies around the eyes, to ensure they’re genuine peasants. The coffee is not as nice but that’s not the point. Anyway, I don’t like to talk about this or the Ugandan school kids I bought a well for...so I’ll shut up.

I'm guessing you don't see people's NSC signatures on your phone that you're posting from. The OP's on that thread is a bit of a giveaway. You weren't the only one to swim into the net though, indeed, you'd have to remember stuff from the Withdean days of NSC to get the gag.

Very fair point. To 'enlighten' you my take would be when the FA sacked Allardyce there were very few other choices to pick from, Southgate was already in the set up (U21 coach) and he is very much an 'FA man' so it made sense. I remember at the time the general consensus he was very fortunate to get the job, I certainly thought that.

My point about Chris Powell remains though, we should be selecting coaches on merit not skin colour, it doesn't make a racist (although I have no doubt I will be called one) to question why a lower league journeyman manager is an England coach. By all means give Chris Hughton a coaching position as he's managed at the top level.

There are two points of note in your above response which appear to jump out at me.

1. You seem to with ease be able to come up with some mitigating circumstances for Gareth Southgate being given the England Manager's job despite conceeeding in your own view that he got it "Not on Merrit". However you make no effort to find a justification for the Merrit of Chris Powell.

2. Your suggestion that perhaps it should instead go potentially to Chris Hughton because that would be In your opinion Merritted.

I am not 100% sore you are meaning to be "Racist". But subconsciously it is.

You are suggesting that Chris Hughton and I quote you here " Be given a coaching position"

Not the main job it seems but a coaching position. That is the typical stereotypical assumption that Black Men make good athletes but they don't really Merritt the Top Job.

I am not saying you necessary mean it . But your responses invoke the feeling of a subconscious racial bias. That is forgiveable but when people are pointing it out to you and your not willing to take it on board. That is harder for people to acknowledge.

Now in this post I am not suggesting that Chris Chris Hughton Merritt's or would want the England job.

Although it does confuse me it why someone who has a better Managerial Background than Gareth Southgate but yet in your words he should qualify for a coaching role underneath Southgate.

I hope you follow what I mean here about some of your replies coming from your subconscious. A subconscious which many people at the Highest Enchelons of football also seem to have.

I wonder what will happen first, the corona lock-down gets lifted or Beach Seagull gets the reaction he has now spent 2 and a half days desperately trying to obtain?
