Hhmm, not sure I can have a soft spot for someone who smokes crack cocaine, but it is always sad to see someone die well before their time.

I also had a soft spot for him. A character, flawed, yes, but a man of the people. He was only 46, but he packed in a lot. RIP.

I guess we all like a rogue to some degree, but just wouldn't want them around us or governing us! (Think Trump and Boris).

From a distance I found his antics interesting (I can't say funny as I don't think some of them were at all) but I suspect in closer proximity it would've been a different tale.

I see you point, but I wouldn't put Trump and Boris in the same class as Ford. Trump and Boris think of nothing but themselves and their careers. Ford, from my limited knowledge, was very different.
