Such sad news.

Always enjoy watching Rugby League and seeing Rob Burrow more than hold his own against the bigger beasts was a treat. Similar to Andy Gregory when he was playing for Wigan and others in the 80s. Both of them came in at 5ft 5”.

MND is brutal, a close friend’s mum had it. But what he’s done, with Kevin Sinfield, to raise awareness and funds is brilliant. I’d imagine Sir Kev is hurting a lot today.

RIP to a a courageous and, evidently, fantastic person.

Very sad news, lost a good mate to this horrible disease, hope it raises awareness and funding to find a cure.

Had time to take this in, always knew it was coming but feel so sad that the awareness, courage and friendship comes to an end.

You did so much in your worthy career but captured our imagination with your friendship with Kevin; a great player, legendary man and beautiful person, RIP Fella ❤️

Never watched him play but know a hell of a lot more about him these days of course. Fantastic battler through everything - a really, really good guy like Kev his captain and friend in and out of rugby - Rob and his wife were on TV many times and you warmed to them always. A very sad day - eventually brought down by a horrible killer but will be remembered forever
RIP Rob

Being a northern monkey RL (Widnes) was my go to most weekends back in the 1980's.

Hell of a game, hits you wouldn't believe but no fannying about, just get up and get on.

Ironic, and very sad, to hear of his passing on Lou Gehrig Day, whom name this disease is often called by. Such a brave battle against a terrible disease. RIP.
Lets hope one day we can find a cure 🙏

And today, they break the ground on the Rob Burrow MND centre in Leeds being built with some of the £20m raised by Rob and his bestie.

A legacy left by a legend. RIP

I saw the video of this on the BBC, the playful little smirk he gives after the “over and out” is exactly what his former team mates have been saying about his sense of humour and his pranks. He clearly loved being able to leave one final joke for his friends and family.
