How do you react to crap or inconsiderate driving? Jam the brakes
on and get out hurling abuse, scream out of the window, get your baseball bat or crowbar out, hit the horn, gesticulate or just shrug your shoulders and live with it.

Reading the replies to Artois thread about turning most of you seem to get pretty wound up driving.

I tend to curse to myself rather than hurling abuse. If people are dumb or inconsiderate enough to do some of the things you see on the road, whatever you do is not going to change the way they drive, so why go apoplectic?

I merely give a stern look to most people unless they are old when they get a good shouting, i figure they can't hear me anyway and shouldn't be on the roads in the first place.

I was in the passenger seat of my wifes little 1.1 saxo a few weeks ago and she was driving in a sensible way through horsham when some tosser in a sierra decides to overtake at speed in a built up residential area. My wifes response was to flash him and do a wanker sign at him. They sped on ahead but then got stuck at traffic lights, we pulle dup behind them and she flashed them again and did another wanker sign. Th elgiths went green and they pulle daway slowly then stopped their car at a point where she was stuck and couldn't get past then one of them opened their door (there were two lad sint he car) as if to get out while the other turned round and punched a fist into his open hand as if to say you're gonna get done over.

As their door opened, I jumped out of the car, of course whilst in the passenger seat I looked like a small perosn as I sit quite low down int he seat.

As I jumpe dout and they realised I was 6ft 3 and 18 stone they shit themselves, the driver pulled forward about ten yards away from me with the passenger quickly shutting and locking the door.

The driver then got out did a wanker sign at me and then sped off.

Most amusing but they would have had a go had I not been twice the size of them and willing to stand up to them.

Now my wife was at faulkt for flashing them but they took it a bit too far really threatening us and trying to block us in was unacceptable, my wife said that its at times like that she is glad I'm a big bloke with a skin head. Even though she knows I wouldn't hurt a flie, they didn't know that. :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

My immediate reaction is to shout at them but if I catch their eye I blow a kiss at them.

It confuses them completely :lolol:

I just shout abuse from the safety of my car.

On the way to brizzie the other day a merc was tailgating me at a ton, with nowhere to pull in I just slowed down so i could pull behind the car to the left.

I then proceeded to shout at him and give hand gestures.:censored:

At the foot of the downs
I find if someone is acting a jerk, get up close to them and make sure they see you laughing at them, tends to be little even the most arrogant of tossers !!!

As a cyclist I tend not to get too aggressive - I feel a bit vulnerable on a bike.

But occasionally, a bloke (and it nearly always is a bloke) behaves like such a bonehead that I forget myself.

Why do drivers keep switching lanes without looking in mirrors and without indicating - is it too macho to be considerate to other road users?

Yesterday, I had a bloke pull out without looking (and indicating that he was pulling in to park) and saw a cyclist knocked off his bike by a Merc suddenly swerving right - the cyclist certainly didn't hold back.
