I gathered that, but assumed he had been heading into the plonk business.

I'd love to have had an ex-pro as a teacher. I did have Mike Yaxley for a football coach for a short while.

Mike Yaxley the physio?

He was my physio when I took tennis seriously. Is it the same guy?

Also had Andrew Ireland as physio for a short while, Andy Murrays current physio :clap2:

Mike Yaxley?? I remember him from my first Albion poster on my wall, blimey, that name brings back memories.

I worked for a short time at Highbury Grove Comp in 1996 when Cliff Jones was the PE teacher (he of Spurs double-winning side in '61) - he must have just turned 60 and was turning kids inside out on the playground when I saw him. Brilliant stuff.

Never met RMJ but from what people are saying he seems to be a top bloke. Just throwing it in though, do you think this early retirement could have anything to do with the big match fixing investigations soon to be taking place in county cricket?

I assume so. Small. Italian looking.

Oh, he was the physio! Quite a handy football coach with the help of his son. They coached me from the age of 11 to 13 at Mowden. I think Sid Snell was involved with the FA and very friendly with Brighton, so he did it as a favour.

Lovely chap. Cracking tinted glasses he used to wear.
