Maybe don't use Media Player. Songbird is one I could recommend
Install Ubuntu and Banshee?
Banshee vs Rythmbox? I'm still undecided. Also have Asunder CD ripper which seems a bit better at finding track names, particularly on double CDs.
Straight forward question, whats the most straight forward way to decrypt a DVD and rip it or iPad/tablet?
Use Handbrake.
I'm not sure Handbrake decrypts though?
it doesn't. you need a dvd ripping program, something like aimersoft or wondershare
Blimey, they're not cheap are they? All a bit of a pain, just wanted to get DVDs/Blu-rays I already own onto my ipad to watch on the move/holiday etc. DRM is preventing me copying 2 films. Pah, never mind, but thanks for the suggestions.

MacTheRipper gets past Macrovision DRM to copy the DVD on a Mac for free
Will that do all DVDs? That said, the 2 I want to do are the 'digital copies' you get to download when you buy a bluray, they play fine on WMP, VLC etc, but the drm prevents me making them suitable to put on iPad. I shall give MacTheRipper a go, thanks .
