I would just like to say thank you to everyone that has shared their stories or kind words about the old man on here. I never knew the kind of reaction that would come of this. It's been quite hard to read at times but it's been a really lovely tribute. I believe there will be something in the Charlton programme on the 30th about dad.

Isn't that Bank Holiday weekend?

Quite appropriate for the top mod Ace Face.

One thing I forgot that Tony told me he always did on matchday at the Amex - something he did from the first day - was 'toast' the second-last verse of Attila's 'Goldstone Ghosts' ('... the battle's only just begun, but we have won the war...') in Dick's Bar. The poem meant an awful lot to him, especially that verse.

Tony was the guest on the Albion Roar on the 6th August 2011 - the day of the Doncaster Rovers match. I've just put it up in the Archive Section of the Roar webiste. http://albionroar.co.uk/archive.php

You've put it up in the wrong place.

Ooops.

Yes, I forgot to mention I moved it this evening because Mike (Tony's son) wanted it to download to his iPhone, and it won't do it from the Archive section.

I'll be keeping it there for the time being, for anyone who wants to download it to their mobile devices, before putting it back in the Archive section in a few days or so.

Tonys funeral is will take place at the Holy Cross Church, Warren Road Woddingdean, next Thursday at 1-00pm. Everyone is welcome.
There will be an obituary in tomorrows programme, and plans for a minutes applause at 67 minutes.

There is also a lovely tribute on the Albion In The Community website.

This is terrible news.

Like many on here, I'm sure, I didn't know Tony personally, to the extent that I could never have put a face to Woodingdean Seagull, but knew of his work and commitment to REMF. The stories on this thread paint the picture of a most wonderful man, who is a terrible loss to family, friends, and the countless people who have benefitted as a direct result of his REMF work.

RIP Woodingdean Seagull.

Unfortunately i am on a five week work training course in Portsmouth so am not going to be able to make Thursday which is so annoying as having known him twelve years and been a regular on his prestonville golf days i would definitely of been there otherwise. I would though like to send some flowers or make a donation so details on this would be really appreciated.
