Never liked the Exorcist. The French Connection however…70’s cop drama at its absolute best.

I watched it after Mark Kermode said it was his favourite film having suggested earlier that Mary Poppins (one of my faves) is right up there, and that the Comsat angels are better than U2 (which is a fact). I quite like it.

Agreed. As an atheist I couldn't find the Exorcist remotely scary, just made up nonsense, although Linda Blair in Repossessed was quite amusing.

But French Connection was superb - the cast, the script - everything was brilliant.
