Just seemed to be an ever-present in my growing up. Just hearing the name made me think of my uncle listening to his radio show, George Best turning up pissed on the chat show, Kenny Everett bending his mic on Blankety Blank and his brilliant Eurovision commentaries. A dry wit and by all account a lovely man, RIP.
I'm starting to feel really old
I was just thinking the same thing - kind of ever-present during my life and almost always in a very good way. Met him once through work as well and seemed a very genuine bloke, absolute delight to talk to. Will be very sadly missed. RIP
