RIP Teletext (Pg.412 especially)

I don't know if anyone else noticed that ITV Teletext has been 'pulled' today

You can still get info on racing, holidays and see subtitles though

It was always a part of my getting up routine to look at Ceefax and Teletext, with page 412 on the latter of special interest, being League 1 news

I think someone who is a BHA fan had something to do with it, as in a list of teams for which you could sign up for a text message info service, Brighton were at the top above Brentford, even though that is incorrect alphabetically

I suppose I'll have to log-on to ITV.com for footie news

I'd been keeping track of it's closure, I read all the special goodbye pages and the like. It's a sad day indeed. Yes, we have the internet, but when I awake in the morning, my routine it to read Ceefax and Teletext in bed before I get up, it takes alot less effort than having the type things into the computer, use the mouse etc.

What's annoying though is that in the last few weeks, the sports pages on Teletext were not maintained properly, for instance, page 403 would be linked as Fergie moaning about Refs, but when you got to page 403, it was Premier League match reports from two weeks ago.
Very sloppy really.

I'll be gutted when Ceefax on analogue goes as digital text is a nightmare to navigate.

I noted that too, but assumed they were trying to wean us off it, like you say showing week old reports etc.

I once went to see SCCC play a forty over day-night game, got bored after one innings, and went home and watched the entire, fruitful, run-chase on Ceefax
