Drinking with John Martyn, you must have a mega constitution!

RIP Steve, loved Cockney Rebel

Class act

It was a mad night, tbh. I ended up driving him (bad boy!) in a 2 CV to the Market Diner, where he bought us both a Gutbuster to soak up the booze and he regaled me with tales of his life and loves.
Then I drove him back to The Grand, where the doorman struggled to open the door of the car for him. :)

Worthing
Mr. Soft has stiffed. :(
Really cool guy and incredibly talented. Bloody cancer...again! FFS.

One of my heroes as a youngster, Sebastian was the best song I’d ever heard, at the age of 13.

Mr Raffles is now one of my top 3 favourite ever songs, the album version of course.

RIP Steve, truly sad.

Saw him in concert a few times. Even back in the 90s he was renowned for forgetting the words to his songs but always entertaining and self deprecating.

Very underrated and his version of Here Comes The Sun is worth a listen

Bath, Somerset.
The Psychomodo remains one of my all-time favourite albums, and this one of my all-time favourite songs - but Come Up and See Me (Make Me Smile) is one of the best 'singles' ever.

That and 'Sebastian' are my two faves, and fully agree that Come Up and See Me is up there with the best singles.

RIP Steve Harley

He was famously cast as The Phantom of the Opera:

By the time the show was staged fully, he was unceremoniously sacked and replaced with Michael Crawford. He spoke of his anger many times in interviews!
