Genuinely stunned by this.. only yesterday whiled away the best part of an hour looking at the YouTube clips of 8 out of 10..does Count Down.. "Sean, your greatest achievements?" "Well there was the time I went seal clubbing..." had me in tears. So terribly sad at any age, but at 58, terrible.

Oh, that's so shocking. He was the type of comedian whose voice, style and manner made you think he was your friend. How very sad.

Fantastic comedian and I’m fairly sure he lived in Lewes at some point in the fairly recent past.

RIP

I was trying to think of something like that to say.

He had a lovely relaxed but laconic style.

I worked with him once - we co-hosted an industry awards event and he was an exceptionally nice bloke and genuinely funny.

RIP

Very sad news. Had the good fortune to see him live a few times and was a superb stand-up, as well as his TV appearances. Had no idea he was ill. Condolences to his family and friends.

Christ, that has stunned me.

He was my favourite comedian in every way. We saw him at The Dome a few years ago, and always hoped to see him perform live again.

Bloody Hell.

Very sad news, one of my favourite comedians. Any panel show he took part in was 100% improved with him as a guest and his stand alone DVDs are superb.
RIP Sean

I had no idea he was ill, poor bugger. 15 Stories High is still one of my all time favourite shows.

Very underrated show. Both series are imaginative, risk taking and very funny. There was speculation about his health a few years back when he appeared on Cats Does Countdown with his hair gone and his voice sounding strained, but he was obviously a private bloke who didn't say anything at the time. He had looked back to health in more recent appearances, so this comes out of the blue and his is one of those deaths of a creative person that can make us feel like we might have undervalued him a bit when he was around. He excelled on panel shows because he had the warmth needed to be able to say usually unsayable stuff, but with the twinkle in his eye that made you know that he was doing it just to entertain you. His stand up shows and 15 Stories High showed a unique comedy mind with perhaps more depth than most of the panel show regulars. Although the public's loss will obviously be nothing compared with that of his friends and family, I think a lot of people who never met him will feel this one hard and be grateful for the joy he provided while he was around.
