This has turned into a top thread - and I thought it would be of minority interest. I'll check out those links tomorrow Dave.

It's thrown up some good memories.

Nice photo. Even that brings back memories as I can sort of place some of those faces, especially Brother Culture and Little John.

Think I'll have to have a play around on this User Control Panel at some point and see if I can save this thread somehow 'cos you've made it NSC gold for me

Was KingTafariLove named after the Spanish town ?

I went there a few years ago, still a bit hippy but to be frank stunning beaches but a bit of a dump.

When they talk about the wind, they ain't joking. The beach becomes a health and safety hazard and when that famous fog comes down (even in the summer) visibility goes down to a few metres.

I got the runs so badly there I ended up in the local hospital.

Never again.

This has turned into a top thread.

It certainly has !

Thanks for starting it

Shame it was with sad news, but good to see some old memories come out of it and that is never a bad thing.

Ladbroke Grove
Goldhawk Rd ?

Home of Greensleeves records no less

Anyone know if their record shop is still there ? I only visited it once or twice and that was back in the 80's.

They have a distribution warehouse on Brackenbury Rd still, I believe.

Peckings Studio 1 on Askew Rd for me, they're still there but have moved further up towards Uxbridge Rd.

Great mid 80's West Street look Dave! Presume you had the canary yellow Farahs and Kickers on as well?!

Would you have frequented the Blues Parties around First/Second Avenue around that time? Interesting evenings!!

:p not so woried about the 'fashion', more concerned that I look like a bloody girl!!

Yep, that was us playing in 1st and 2nd Avenue, and quite a few places around Brighton. Did some wicked parties in basement on madeira drive that were memorable..next to the British Legion club... some in little preston street, basement of that gay pub that was in East Street..name escapes me. Was a bit of an eye opener for dreads from London haha.
Played in a lot places. Even the carpark under Eubanks flats until the police turned up.
Our first regular dances were in the old Resource center off Queens road. If you remember them, youre seriously old...

The New Heart and Hand. They had a (rare) late licence but you had to eat sandwiches to comply with the then law.
