I agree, Frazier was fearless. Tyson was awesome beating people up but if they stood up to him he was lost. To my mind a great in boxing is not scared to go back into the ring against someone who had beaten them, Tyson managed this once and ended up biting Holyfield's ear and getting disqualified. In the thriller in Manilla Angelo Dundee pushed Ali out for the later rounds, Eddie Futch refused to do this with Frazier. Had the two cornermen been switched I think there would have been a different result.

futch probably saved jo's life that night he could'nt see out of his good eye so was almost complety blind Saying that that its doubtful ali would have come out for the last round

Never really been into boxing however he was definitely up there with the greatest boxers in the world from what I have read.

Isn't it funny how great boxers at a weight come in groups? Frazier was around with Ali and Norton in a great era for Heavyweight then in the 80s you had Hearn, Duran and Leonard in and around middleweight.

This all serves to remind us how poor Heavyweight boxing is now. The Klitschko brothers are effective but so boring and Haye was no better than quite good.

The last decent champ we had was Lewis and he would probably only be in the top 20 ever.

At his peak Tyson was up there with he best but to say he went off the rails is an understatement! Would be tempting to put Rocky Marciano up there but he would have been a cruiserweight if around today.

Sorry mate i disagree, admittedly you can only fight whoever is put in front of you , but as ive mentioned earlier, even at his peak tyson struggled against anyone who could box, an ali, foreman, frazier would have destroyed him, larry holmes the most underrated heavyweight ever made him look silly for a couple of rounds.

Assuming both at their peaks Ali would have eaten him alive. Don't know about Frazier but I suspect it wouldn't have gone on for long.

Norton and Holmes certainly wouldn't have been intimidated by him, which would have been half the battle.

I don`t think Holmes made Tyson look silly just ordinary. That was the thing though with Holmes, he was a great technician and could tie you up but he never really put a glove on Tyson. The first time he opened up in the fight Tyson got to him easily. Both of those fighters are in the top ten of all time but exactly in what positions could make for an interesting thread.

I suppose Holmes was 38 then.
