Not just Mott the Hoople's drummer. He later worked at the BBC and was responsible for producing most John Peel sessions throughout the 1980s and early '90s.
See what you did there. Good band, not as well remembered as others from that era though. Sad that a member has to pass away to remind people of their existence and contribution to music.
Saw the last Mott gig at the O2 with my son a couple of years ago. Still love Ian Hunter who at 75 is still making great albums and still great to see live.
