Horrendous news. I turned 30 a couple of months ago and have a baby girl that I can't wait to see grow up. Just really makes you realise that you can take nothing for granted in this life and must relish every day as you never know what the future may hold.
My sincere sympathies with all of his friends and family.
Totally shocked about this. Loved watching him play for us, he really was an absolute warrior who not many got the better of. Also responsible for one of the greatest things I have seen at a football match against Arsenal in the 4-4 game. Absolutely awful news and my thoughts go to his family.
I just do not understand how something like this can happen to an elite footballer. Every aspect of their fitness and health is monitored to the max - after all, this is how (thank goodness) Connor Goldson's condition was picked up on during a routine check and dealt with in advance, not after a collapse during a game or a training session. I honestly thought sport science would pre-empt anything like this happening.
Heart goes out to his family. Brutally sudden. Just leaves me shaking my head.
