He only made an appearance at this year’s CMAs last month. A genuine trailblazer and a legend of country music - RIP Charley

Very sad news.

My first exposure to country music was via a Charley Pride cassette in my parents car, and I still love his voice and music to this day.

His autobiography is a fascinating read, and by all account he was a thoroughly decent, humble guy.

He's a name I know, but was never really familiar with. I have two songs of his, one (Kiss an angel goon mornin') from a compilation album, and possibly his last song? as a a guest on Garth Brooks' 'Where the Cross Don't Burn' from his new Album 'Fun', released at the end of November.

Well worth a watch - very interesting documentary, and you can tell how well thought of he was by his fellow performers.
