What ambition? To be confined to the Championship at best because our 22,000 ground (if we ever get it!) will never be big enough for the Premiershite.

Mike Bamber was looking for a site to build a ground about twice that size, he also got us to 13th in the top league and the FA Cup Final. DK got us to a struggling team in the second league, and a third league level play-off final. DK is the glory hunter not me, i bet he jacks-off if the crowd sing his name! :lolol: :lolol:

how come bamber is so highly thought of.he was the idiot who came up with the idea of changing the share structure from a public company to one where all the shares were held by board members who could only sell to other current or prospective directors.
THATS HOW ARCHER GOT CONTROL.
and any idiot who regards him a a financial wizard got that wrong too.his personal wealth was on parity with dick knight, the real money in the club was keith wickenden and bamber had to find a way out after keiths plane crash.

our financial problems had their root in the so called 3million value put upon his "investment" on his death.the club had been run down, debts were rising, the ground becoming an embarrasment due to his fantasy about waterhall and his reluctance to invest in the goldstone.
all the great players sold for peanuts because he and mullery put them on ridiculous wages AND very long contracts(steve foster sold to villa for 450,000 had 7 years left on his brighton contract. villa offered him a 3 year deal so we had to pay him up for the other 4 years. 500,000 to get him off the wage bill....vinnicombe ran that story in the argus)

DICK KNIGHT has delivered consistent success on crowds a third of the size that bamer could rely on

but above all be realistic we will never win another trophy at withdean unless we get relegated so even if we do go down

4 CUPS IN 5 YEARS

BRING IT ON

, each with one exception (Mike Bailey with Bamber, and Hinshelwood with Knight).

I am sorry but I cant let that one pass!

Mike Baily was a bloody good manager who got us to the highest position we have ever been in in our history. His only crime was the he saw us the same way as McGhee, in that you may not score many goals but you didnt let any in either. The fans cried out for attacking football and as I recall the next year we were relegated plying "attacking football" and getting thumped every week

So i am afraid that analogy of Hinchelwood and Baily is miles wide of the mark

We can worry about 22,000 not being enough at the time. I'll be happy sitting at Falmer (with my season ticket) and saying oh shame about the other 3000 or so who couldn't get tickets to watch Man Utd at home.

You can then dig this thread out and ask them if they went to Coventry on 2nd April?

As always.... LOYAL SUPPORTER! :clap2:

Mike Bailey was NOT a bloody good manager.

he was f***ing boring and crowds drifted away while we bored our way to 13th in Div 1

of all the managers that have been i/c of BHA since i started watching, its his teams that I would least like to see again

would you rather beat Liverpool when they were Englands no.1 team at Anfield 1-0 or get tanked by Luton 5-0 ?

You goon :salute: :salute: :salute:
